Doctors Are Concerned About Seniors Skipping Medical Appointments During Covid Pandemic

In June the Kaiser Family Foundation reported that 48% of adults had skipped or postponed medical care because of the pandemic.  Physicians are deeply concerned about the consequences, especially for people with chronic medical conditions that necessitate regular follow-up. There are many accounts of people avoiding the ER, even for serious symptoms during the pandemic, and many people have postponed or not been able to undergo elective procedures, such as dental work, non urgent surgeries, et cetera. There has been little talk about the incidence of such morbidity and mortality.
